The last day of middle school was called tie-dye day. Everyone in school who wanted to participate would bring in a shirt, coat, sweatshirt or jersey and they could tie-dye it with their classmates. Josie had been looking forward to this day since the beginning of year. She knew exactly what she was bringing to school to tie-dye and it was her Manchester United jersey.

Her mother had bought the Manchester United jersey for her three years ago when the two of them and their Brownie troop went to a match so the girls could receive their sports badge. In order to receive the sports badge the girls were allowed on the field before the game to play against another Brownie troop.

Josie and her teammates each received a Manchester United jersey to wear while the match was being played. Her team scored three goals in the 1st half. Half way through the 2nd half, Josie had her Manchester United jersey ripped by the opposing teams mauler. She ended up twisting her ankle but was able to come back in and attempt the penalty kick. Eventually, her Brownie troop prevailed six to five, but Josie’s Manchester United jersey was torn and she could not keep it unlike all the other girls.

So that’s how her mother got involved in purchasing her a Manchester United jersey. Josie had been heartbroken before her mother had gotten the Manchester United jersey. However, all was better afterwards and that is why Josie is so excited about tie-dying her Manchester United youth jersey. What could be more complete than Josie tye dying her favorite article of clothing?
